Performance Opportunities

Ballet is a visual art, meant to be shared, seen, and felt, so performance opportunities are a priority at ASB and are considered supplemental to classroom learning. Each year the Astoria School of Ballet presents an original story - ballet as part of the Liberty Theater's School Enrichment Series.  ASB's special partnership with the Liberty Theater allows Astoria School of Ballet students the opportunity to perform in a historic theater in front of sold-out audiences. Students participating in the school shows must adhere to a rigorous rehearsal schedule and be able to miss two days of school for school performance days. Students of all ages are able to perform in the public show  at the end of the week.

Throughout the year, ASB students may be selected by a director and/or various stagers, to perform in guest appearances and charitable performances. Performing is an important part of a dancer's development, so we make a special effort to ensure that our students participate in several stage opportunities throughout the year.
